The BYD DOLPHIN is an exciting new addition to the automotive world, offering a nimble and versatile hatchback in the compact C-segment. Combining agility with practicality, it delivers impressive efficiency and a reliable range of up to 427 km, making it BYD’s most compact model.

Despite its small size, the DOLPHIN is surprisingly spacious, comfortably accommodating up to five adults. It comes loaded with convenient features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Intelligent Cruise Control, and a surround-view camera system.

The BYD DOLPHIN features a sleek exterior, characterised by clean lines and smooth curves that create an elegant, modern appearance. This agile hatchback blends efficiency with practicality, while its distinctive rounded silhouette is highlighted by sharp detailing along the doors.

Boasting a generous 2.70 m wheelbase, the DOLPHIN offers ample space for both driver and passengers. Standard 16-inch alloy wheels can be upgraded to 17 inches, adding a sportier touch to its stylish design.

SAFETY

DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS

The BYD DOLPHIN sets a high standard for safety in the electric car segment, coming standard with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance systems. Recognised as one of the safest models on the market, every version includes a 360-degree camera, Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), and Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC).

Safety is further enhanced with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Rear Cross Traffic Brake (RTCB). Using millimetre-wave radar, these systems detect approaching vehicles or pedestrians when reversing, providing warnings and automatically applying the brakes if a collision is imminent, underscoring the DOLPHIN’s commitment to driver and passenger protection.

Built on the advanced BYD e-Platform 3.0, purpose-designed for pure electric vehicles, the BYD DOLPHIN offers enhanced intelligence, efficiency, safety, and design. The e-Platform 3.0 allows for a strikingly proportioned exterior with short front and rear overhangs and a longer wheelbase, combining style with practicality. Inside, this creates a more spacious rear cabin with a flat floor, delivering generous comfort and ample room for the middle-seat passenger.

HIGH PERFORMANCE BATTERY

BYD BLADE BATTERY

The BYD DOLPHIN is powered by the revolutionary Blade Battery, a benchmark for safety, durability, and performance in the EV industry for over 28 years. Constructed from lithium iron phosphate (LFP)—a safe, sustainable material that avoids scarce resources like nickel and cobalt—this battery delivers exceptional reliability. The DOLPHIN’s 60 kWh LFP Blade Battery offers an impressive range of up to 427 km on a single charge.

For charging, it supports 11 kW AC, allowing a full recharge from empty in around 8 hours, and 100 kW DC fast charging, which takes the battery from 30% to 80% in just 29 minutes.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

HIGH-EFFICIENCY HEAT PUMP SYSTEM

The BYD DOLPHIN is equipped as standard with a state-of-the-art heat pump system, boosting energy efficiency and extending overall driving range. This innovative system captures residual heat from the powertrain, cabin, and batteries to provide effective heating and cooling.

Engineered for optimal performance in all temperatures, the heat pump ensures the DOLPHIN remains comfortable in any weather, whether hot or cold.
